Cyclone, typhoon, or hurricane all have the same meaning
All of them are nothing but a large-scale air mass that rotates around a strong center of low atmospheric pressure. but the only difference between them is the location where they were formed. 
In the southern Indian Ocean or the South Pacific, they are called tropical cyclones or severe tropical cyclones whereas “hurricanes” in the North Atlantic, the northeastern Pacific, the Caribbean Sea or the Gulf of Mexico, and Typhoons in the northwestern Pacific.
